On Thursday, Knights
students had the opportunity to gain knowledge straight from the researchers. Dr. Becky Gonda, Outreach Coordinator, Lisa
Limeri, Ph.D. Candidate, and Caroline Kirkby, PittBio Undergraduate, visited
the Knights’ Science classes to share their knowledge of current research from
the Morehouse Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh.
The
Morehouse Lab studies the evolution and diversity of color patterns and their
role in mating. This Pitt Outreach
Activity, How Animals Use Color, presents
how butterflies use color. For our
Canonsburg Middle School students, the presentation tied together the current
research in the Morehouse Lab with topics our students learned in class.
