The Knights are on an Incredible Journey

The Knights have been working on a cross-curricular unit on Sheila Burnford's classic novel The Incredible Journey, which is about two dogs and a cat who trek across Canada in search of their master. In Language Arts class, students are reading the novel and studying Burnford's use of figurative language. In Science, students are learning about the different animal breeds and natural adaptations. Students are also using their creativity in English class to write a First-Pet Point of View fictional narrative from the canine's perspective. Given an illustration of a dog, students had to consider how that dog might think, respond, and behave, and compose a biographical tale.
