The Knights are celebrating National Poetry Month by exploring the wonderful world of verse. Our unit began with an independent reading project in which we wrote a poem about a character from the novel. We then moved on to poetic devices such as figurative language, form, and sound effects by reading and analyzing a variety of poems. Additionally, we will be learning the characteristics of different types of poems as well as writing a few of our own.
